Been having alot of issues with focus on my F1 at night. During the day I use a setting that is about 4 turns out from all the way in and I have no issues with reticle focus. With the illumination on at night the reticle becomes way out of focus. I have to turn the ocular another good 10 turns before it is in focus. This position (14 turns?) does work during the day, but it is noticeably less sharp then say 4 turns out....

Anyone ever had this? If it matters, I'm wearing a set of prescription glasses that I wonder if it could be the issue. A few other optics with enough diopter to focus without glasses have never given me this problem, including the premier I just tested.

Do you wear contacts also that you could try and see if you notice the same effect? That would rule in or out the problem with the glasses. I have not had any experience with the NF not having enough adjustment for diopter.

I need about -4 diopter available to get a good focus. Never found a scope with more, but every schmidt, premier, or hendsoldt I've used I've bottomed out the adjustment and gotten decent focus.

Don't wear contacts. Having the place that did my glasses double check then for me.

The illumination from the factory is too high for me, reticle will look blurry at this setting to me and many other users. Try turning down the illumination and this may solve your problem. Turning the little screw is very sensitive, just barely turn it and it will make a big change. Crank on the screw and it will break/strip... If you need help, let me know. Mark
