I'm looking to purchase a Nightforce BEAST and am considering the reticle options. I'm interested in feedback from folks that have experience with this reticle and how they like it. It doesn't seem to be as popular as the H2CMR or MSR reticle but that isn't an option on the BEAST.

I appreciate any thoughts on this reticle and if there are significant disadvantages with it.

What a helpful and insightful response.

I can't help with FFP, but I have the Mil-R in a 2.5-10x42 which is SFP and I have a S&B with the FFP H2CMR reticle. The H2CMR is great. Easy to use and read. The Mil-R on the other hand is complicated to learn. There are a lot of different breakdowns on it and it takes time to memorize and master. The T bracket with 0.1 marks is helpful but a little cluttered if you're trying to read bullet holes on paper.

I would say that if simplicity appeals to you go for a Schmidt with H2CMR.

I have the MIL-R in a Beast... I think it is great. I like the simplicity of it. The spaces are easy to use for first .5 hold and the .25 holds after that. They are distinct at high magnification and with a bit of practice...familiarization, they are fast. If you need .2 holds within the first mil, then you will want a different reticle. Personally, I am very please and have zero desire for another reticle.
I like the inverted 'T'. I have not had issue measuring bullets on paper with it... Just like any of them with .1 lines, takes a minute and a steady hold.

Find one you can look through and see what you think...Enjoy

Save money and get it in the ATACR if not then spend extra coin and go S&B

Are you serious, I have the BEAST with a mil-r it's great very clean and simple. I own a couple SBs and a Henny, BEAST is right there with SB, despite peoples complaints about the turret I love it, tracks right on, the glass is superb can't tell the difference between the S&B 5-25 and the BEAST, OP don't worry man you'll love the Beast and the Mil-r reticle!
