Rifle Scopes NF MLR2 F1 internals

I picked up a new F1 Nightforce with the MLR2 reticle. I just noticed while setting the zero stops that the internals are now coated black. On my older F1 the internals are aluminum silver color.

Is there are reason for this, is it anodized for more hardness?

by the way the MLR2 is way better than the MLR, in my opinion...

Truckman,
It is my sons. He really likes it. He went from a 2.5-10 to this. the glass is as good as my older F1, but as i stated above the MLR2 is a better design. I think I am gonna pay the 250 to have my reticle swapped, when they finally start taking that work.
You will not be disappointed.
