Was looking into doing F class again and need to get another optic as I sold off my NF competition last year. I had the FCR-1 reticle and liked it but it didn't work great for me when I was shooting steel matches. Unfortunately I know how this goes as every scope has its purpose but kinda wanted something that I can use in both f class and steel. I was looking at the NX8 4-32x50 F2 MIL-CF2D and the reticle doesn't seem to busy for f class. I looked into the golden eagle also but I really can't live without zero stop now that I've been spoiled.
What are ya'lls recommendations on a multi use optic? Thanks

March optics are very nice. After speaking with a few people I'm leaning towards the Golden Eagle just to get by with for now. That will allow me to free up some funds for more reloading equipment I've held off on buying. I'm still open to suggestions either way.

Not an F class shooter, some PRS type, plinker and limited hunting, but I have a NX8 4-32 with Mil-XT reticle. Glass is amazing and reticle is great for my uses. I actually have trouble seeing mirage for reading wind because it seems to cut through it so well. The tradeoffs I’ve found for the huge magnification range so far are:

    - parallax sensitivity to changes in magnification and no numbers on the parallax knob for reference (i get it’s different at different mags but a starting point would be nice under a timer in comp). Just slow to get set on multiple targets at different ranges (but prob great for F class).

    - Over 25x scope darkens and tunnels a bit BUT I don’t use it there except to check holes on paper occasionally.

    - Reticle is small at 4x for walking to a stand etc, but can be illuminated in low light and that helps

+ Scope shines in the 10-22x range which is pretty good for me.

+ Very good eye box and field of view FOR the power range you get.

    + Tracks well

+ light weight for power range

I’m happy with it and feel it’s a great scope for me at that price point.

Opposite experience here. Had the NX8 4-32 CF2D and the glass was sub-par. Behind everything else I've tried from Japan by a good margin. Sent it back.

I saw a review video from SpeedLoads on YouTube (I believe) and he discussed the compact size of the NX8 cost some clarity loss compared to the ATACR or NXS. I know there will be some highs and lows with glass but I'm a believer that zero stop should be more standard. Especially if you're paying over $1k.

Great scope for F-class or anything else you might want to get into. I'm running the MilC reticle, mostly NRL22 type stuff out to 500 yards its money in the bank. Zero issues with focus/paralax (mine will focus under 10 yards) Field shooting using the reticle 20 to 25X and if I want to test a load/ammo 32X is great.
