First of all, thanks to everyone who came out and supported us in 2011. We had a great shooting year, and it was all because of the great folks who came out and did their best.

Online Registration: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dDZraT

We've never done a two gun match before, so to kick the rifle shooting season off properly, we're going to do just that.

The Course of Fire will include stages that are purely Precision, purely Carbine, and also multigun (stage fired with BOTH rifles).

Distances for carbine will be from 3 feet out to 400Y. Distances with precision rifle will be 200 to 600+.

Movers, static steel, unorthodox positions and pop-ups should be expected for both platforms.

Round counts are not determined, but the ultimate max will not be greater than 100 rounds carbine and 60 rounds precision.

Match fee is $30 guests and $20 NHRPC members. We prefer a check written directly to the club for match fee.

I'm also reaching out in the registration form for some suggestions in terms of our course of fire, match formats, etc. If you can't attend but still want to send me some ideas on the side, please do.

Thanks, and see you on the firing line!

Re: NHRPC TWO GUN Match Jan 14, Gap PA

Thanks,

My thinking was to try and celebrate the rifle across all types of skill sets, and I ran into barriers where I was thinking "wow, that would be fun with carbine..." So I simply stopped thinking inside the box. I'm working on the CoF now. This one should be a lot of fun. I will post the CoF when it's done. One LE style stage idea (precision) just hit me like a lightning bolt.

I won't be able to partake in this match as a competitor but if you need any help with set up or running then let me know. I'm in KOP so easy to get to NHRC.

Well, if the weather continues to be uncooperative and we don't have snow to get the sleds out of the garage, this might be an option.

I really do like the idea of the mixed format. I need to shoot my carbine more, and this would be a great way to do it. It's always been a real toss up to shoot precision or carbine at these matches, but I have always gone for the precision. Being able to do some of each is great.

Fargo,
Did I read the course of fire correctly? On the Range Run stage we have to hit the 500 yard steel with the carbine? Looks like I'm headed back to the range to get longer dope.

Thanks for spotting that - the carbine is supposed to go only to 400Y. That is fixed.

Remember that the 2 pass mover on that stage is your timer. You can skip any target you want and take misses in the interest of getting hits with the precision rig. Once the mover comes down, you're cooked. 100% Up to the shooter to manage both time and performance.

Great match!! Wish I would have made it to the other matches you have held up there, I loved the carbine/precision format!! Great to see you guys again, and those that I have shot with before. Looking forward to the next match I can make, want to thank James and Matt for asking me to go to the match with them. Also want to thank my gunsmith Mark Williams (triple6) for building my M40A5 that shoots really well, looking forward to having a great season with this rifle.

Way to go Fargo! Mixing the carbine and precision was great. But the heaters on the firing line and snow bunnies serving hot chocolate really took your January match to a new level. Personally I appreciated the shoulder masseuse for the relays in the pits who had to tote those heavy B27 targets. BHTC has really set the bar high. Looking forward to the next one.

Agreed guys!

You'll see this 2-gun format return again, I promise. I personally enjoyed it a whole lot myself. I will prepare for larger crowds with stages that test skill but still run quick too.

Great shooting Hogstooth! All you DC/MD/VA guys please keep us in mind. We're within striking distance for you and I thank those who continue to spread the word that what we're doing is worth the trip.

Great match Fargo, you guys always do a great job. I too enjoyed the two gun format, I'm glad to hear it will be back. Keep working on stages and I'll keep recruiting MD shooters to come up.

Congratulations on the win Hogstooth, you did a great job especially considering how much you were shivering.

Here are a few pics I got before the batteries died in my camera. I think the cold might have played a hand in that as well.
