Hunting & Fishing Nice Texas Hill Country Axis Buck

Originally went out for Whitetail on opening day and had this Axis buck come through a wooded with a couple of Axis does. Just about a 75 yard shot with my Remington 5R. We have them come in occasionally off an adjacent property that borders the Perdanalis River. This buck went 31 inches and is still in full velvet.

If Axis had 10 babies per litter and 2-3 litters per year they might be half as prolific as feral hogs.
