I'm pretty new to the long range shooting scene but through some research I'm pretty set on getting a Night Force. Do you guys think it's worth it to get the NF 3.5-15x F1? Or just get the standard 3.5-15x? I am also VERY confused about what type o reticle to get. I will be using it on a Remington 700ss 5R milspec .308 and will be using it primarily for the range (sometimes in low light but mostly during the day) but would definitely want it to hold up in a SHTF/ tactical scenario as well. What do you guys think?? I really appreciate any help

I don't think nightforce sells a 3.5-10. you might be thinking about the 3.5-15.

whichever you choose will serve you well, just get matching reticle and knobs. If you get a mildot or MLR reticle get mil knobs. if you get the npr1 or npr2 get MOA knobs.

if it were me I'd get the F1 with MLR reticle and MIL knobs. I believe the F1 is only offered with the Mildot or MLR reticle at the moment.

I will second Luvman's input, make sure you knobs and reticle match. If you are going to shoot tactical competition and really want a Nightforce, that means the F1 for the FFP reticle. The zero stop is something else you are going to find you need sooner or later. Of course for that kind of money you ought to take a hard look at the Premier Heritage as well. I wouldn’t buy either until I had a chance to see them up close and personal, preferably side by side. Most serious competitors get started with ‘lower rung’ scopes (I have a box of IOR’s & Leupolds) and eventually, at significant expense, work up to the good stuff. You are smart to get a top notch scope out of the chute, unless it is just going to gather dust in your gun safe.

Cheers,
