Hi guys,

I just got an F1. When the zoom is at 3.5 it seems like the view through it is smaller than at 5x. It's hard for me to explain but it's like having a 3 inch hole but only 2.7 inches of that is visable and the last .3 Inches is a black ring. When I zoom in then the image takes up the whole area. I can see the edges of thescope but the image does not fill the Scope until it is zoomed to 5x.

I have tried moving my head forwards and backwards and it does not help. I have also removed the sunshade thinking maybe it was blocking the field of view. No luck.

Is this normal? My 5x20 super sniper does not do this but I do not have much experience with a 3x scope.

Re: Night force F1 help

I know exactly what you are talkin about, don't worry it is normal. I don't feel like going into the detail, but its a ffp, and when zoomed all the way out it will have that miniscule ring. it isn't you, or your eye relief. all my 'work' ffp leupold's, and NF F1's had this. I would never zoom clear out, if i did zoom out, i'd leave it right where it still looks like a "full picture" if that makes sense to you... and yea it was always around 5X. I am trying to remember if my 4-16 s&b did this as well, but i'm not sure.

Re: Night force F1 help

Cool as long as its not me. I was trying to make sure it was not an eye relieve issue on my part. It is an awesome scope. The glass is great and better than almost every scope I gave looked through. I was trying to leave work early today to test it, but it did not happen. I will try it tomorrow.
