Although I believe the allen screws should not have stripped. That doesn't sound like a manufactures defect. It sounds more like user error. I would say if you spend that much on a scope you should have torch wrenches that can do inch/pounds. JMO.

Re: NIGHT FORCE WARRANTY

When I called and asked if they would cover a scope I bought second hand if something happened to it, they told me that they would cover it no problem. No receipt or registration card needed.

Really? so it couldnt have been a bad batch of screws? as in too soft or something? And thats not even the point, the point is that without asking the customer to send the scope in they made up their mind that it wasnt a defect, it was user caused. They must have psychic thechs working for them.

</div></div> Huh?

From the manual
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Nighforce Owners Manual</div><div class="ubbcode-body">We are proud to back up every Nightforce riflescope with a <span style="font-weight: bold">transferable Limited Lifetime Warranty</span> which covers mechanical defects in materials and workmanship in the optical and mechanical components of the riflescope ...

Re: NIGHT FORCE WARRANTY

I understand that, but without looking at the scope, how can they determin that it was accidental damage? Wouldnt they have to inspect it first? Making up their mind over the phone without said inspection is piss poor CS in my book.

This is what seperates great customer service like USO from the rest.

He said he used the supplied wrench.Maybe if they are that sensitive it should say so and not supply the tool to do the job.Plus if its that frail can you imagine guys on the ground having to set that in the field?

I don't have a clue why this happened but I can't believe they would quote a price to repair it without even seeing the scope. That just seems piss poor to me which is very suprising as I've been pretty pleased with NF.

Re: NIGHT FORCE WARRANTY

You know you could go to the hardware store and spend about $1.00 for replacement set screws. Ive done it.....

Beats the hell out of shipping your scope off and some tech laughing at you for being such a wimp that he cant replace his own set screws. You should be able to fend for yourself when such a minor accident occurs.
