Guys i traded for a nightforce 40MOA scope mount rail and i have a question. Will i be able to zero a nikon monarch scope at 100 with such a steep rail such as the 40MOA rail? I just didnt know if i would have any proplems with it. I have used 20MOA rails in the past but never a 40. thanks Lee

Re: nightforce 40MOA rail ????

You'll have problems at 100yds. I think the Monarch has less than 50MOA adjustment, so you ought to be keeping your rail around 20MOA or so.

I wouldn't run a 40MOA rail with anything that has under 100MOA travel, they're ideal for NF scopes with 100MOA and more of travel.

Lee,I would probably stick with a 20MOA,that way you are not maxing your scope out on the adjustments.I was actually surprised on how little adjustment I had left on my Leupy after I zeroed at 100.

What distance are you going to do most of your shooting at?

I just went thru this with a 300WM I rarely use. I couldn't get it zeroed @100 w/ a Mark 4 and figured out it was the 40 MOA Nightforce base it had on it. I would of thought there would be plenty of adjustment but there wasn't.
