Rifle Scopes nightforce 5.5-22x56

Re: nightforce 5.5-22x56

I just got the 5.5-22x50. My buddy has the 56, for me I feel its a little too big for a tac rifle but thats my opinion. also if your trying to mount as close to bbl as possible 50 might be better.

Re: nightforce 5.5-22x56

I like my 56,lets in a good deal of light in low light conditions with a big field of view and my chassis is fully adjustable so that allowed me to mount the objective pretty close to the barrel leaving my height over bore at 2.017".Distance from top of barrel to bottom of objective is .364" Should I try to go lower?

Re: nightforce 5.5-22x56

I just got a NF 56mm. I was hoping to get the 50mm for size purposes, but this was a pretty good deal, so I went with it. 5.5x22 56mm MRAD (no zero stop) $1475. It was new old stock from Euro Optic. It fits nice with TPS low rings on a EGW 20 moa base with a little room to spare.

Re: nightforce 5.5-22x56

I just went from a NXS 5.5-22x50 (NP-1RR w/ MOA no Zero Stop) to a 5.5-22x56 MLR/Mil-Rad Zero Stop. I didn't think there would be that much difference, but the field of view difference is very noticeable. I haven't experimented with the low-light performance, but I am very happy with the 56MM.

I have the medium NF rings that I used with the 50mm and the same rings work just fine clearance-wise.

Edit.. on Rem 700 5R with 20 MOA NF base
