School me on the ATACRs. Mainly interested in the 4-16 and 4-20F1s with the MIL-XT reticle.

How is the FOV, IQ, value for the price? How would either stack against the new DMR3/XRS3?

I have 4-16 x42 and discontinued x50. I have no complaints and yet to find something else I would want to replace them for the price. Especially if you can buy used/demo model for a good discount. If you don't need extra turret travel the x42 body is great. I can't tell any difference on image quality or brightness between that and the x50.

4-16x42 is awesome. Eyebox is very forgiving even at higher mag. FOV is plenty good enough for my purposes. Don't know the numbers off the top of my head. Seen a few in the PX for <$2k. Definitely a great deal at that price IMO.

I really liked the 4-16x42 I tested a while back. If it was available with Mil-XT, I would probably still have it.

I played with the 4-20x50 a little bit and if you do not use low mag, it is really a rather nice scope. It tunnels on low mag though, which I did not like.

@koshkin do you have a link to your test? I always value your videos and thought process when you assess optics.

@OP - I own the 4-16x42 in mil-xt and couldn’t be more pleased. I agree with the others’ assessment on the value for what it provides, optical clarity, reliability…etc. I found mINE on the PX and it lives on top of my sig cross.

My AT wears the 4-16X42. I’ve been very happy with it

I have a ATACR 4-20x50 F1. Reticle is MOAR w/ digilum both green/red. Overall, fantastic scope. Couldn’t be happier. Turrets have a very tactile feel and zero wiggle. Eye relief is very forgiving on max power. Parallax knob is smooth and easy to adjust. Tracking is true. Weight is heavy, 32 oz or something like that. Have not had any issues with fogging or moisture in the elements. It’s mounted on a 18”, 6.5 CM, Daniel defense AR10. I own many brand name scopes and optics my fav is nightforce. My personal favorite is the nxs 2.5-10x42. Light, compact scope with a lot of capability. Good luck with your search!
