I know another this scope vs that scope question, but here we go.

My application is punching paper out to 1000 yds. Shooting F/TR with a .308. As far as I know I'll be shooting at static targets at known distances, I'm not planning to do a bunch of dialing.

I've pretty well made up my mind to get a NF 8-32x with an NP-2DD. The question for those who may have used both is which is the better choice for this application the BR with 1/8 MOA clicks or the NSX with 1/4?

I already though about the elevation limitations of the scopes, particularly the BR. The has 50 MOA, I need about 37 to get out to 1000. I've got a 20MOA base on the rifle now, so if we assume that the BR zeros somewhere w/i 25 to 30 off of the bottom on a flat base then I should have 40 to 45 MOA of elevation to get to 1000, gets me there with room to spare.

Anyone out there with a BR that can confirm or deny this assumption, though whatever it is I should be able to get a base to match and get the adjustment I need to reach 1000.

NSX is going to be a more durable scope, the knobs are easier to adjust and return to zero, and the side paralax is much nicer, the BR scopes are just that, Bench Rest.

8-32 nxs (65moa)and probably a 30 moa base would work well, but I would definately wait for the hispeed zero stop to be available!!! (I would prefer the 5-22 with 90 moa, but that is me.)

Re: Nightforce BR v. Nightforce NSX question?

Since you're shooting KD, F-Class (BR-Prone) I would recommend the BR scope. You're not going to be messing with the PA too much (and the Obj Adj seems to be more forgiving) and the rough handling is probably going to amount to moving from your vehicle to the range and moving from berm to berm......

A 25-30MOA base will work best, though you might not get a 100yd ZERO (though that won't matter much).

It is possible to get the 8-32 nxs with 1/8 moa clicks. Eurooptics lists them. I have been pondering this scope. I am just afraid that 8 power is too much for the low end for some of the games I want to play.

Not that I know of, the 1/8 MOA adjustments are only on the BR scopes.

I'm on the same page here. I was just wondering if the NSX might have some performance advantage somewhere. I've never used one.

Re: Nightforce BR v. Nightforce NSX question?

since in F class the X ring is 1/2 MOA having a scope that only does 1/4 adjusment can get you out of the X pretty quick. The BR is the way to go, altough the NXS scope offer another inch of eye relief, it may not be needed depending on your cal.
    hope this helps.
