A buddy of mine bought a new Nightforce NXS compact in 2.5x10x32 for his Sabre AR and went to sight it in today and could not turn the windage turret more than a half revolution in either direction. The turret just stops when you get to four.

Anybody experience this? His scope has zero stop, but he hasn't even touched that yet, could it be set from the factory? The elevation turret works just fine.

Its mounted with a Larue LT-104 mount.

But if it only turns half a revolution each way that would only be 10 MOA of windage? It says on Nightforce's website the scope has 100 MOA of windage??? Should it go 5 revolutions each direction?

Re: Nightforce compact windage knob issue

The scope probably does have about 100 MOA of windage travel...but manufacturers usually list the internal windage travel in their specs which isn't always indicative of what the scope's knob will allow.

Basically, your friend's scope is operating just fine. If he doesn't have the directions for it, I have them posted on my website.

He gets an F- for the day maybe even the month, he say there was nothing in the directions about it.... He was going to send it back! LOL!

I'll let him know, thank you.

Zero Stop and Windage Limiter Instructions

He should have a one page (letter sized & printed front and back) sheet that covers the Zero Stop and Windage Limiter Instructions. This is separate from the multi page manual.

Re: Zero Stop and Windage Limiter Instructions

i have the same scope it has a limiter the turret has a little tag on it that stops the travel when it gets to the end of the slit it rides in. If he did not want the windage limiter he could get another cap from Nightforce. but it is there so at night you can not get a revolution out or in a military role.
