Rifle Scopes Nightforce MOA/MOAR question

For a newbee, wouldn't it make more sense instead of ordering a NF with a MOA windage, etc with MOAR reticle? As opposed to MOA/MIL reticle? Seems to me that the math involved would be simpler.

Whats the biggest difference between the MIL DOT and MOAR recticle?

I understand that the recticles are different. But I believe both use mil-radians to calculate right??

What am i missing here? Relatively new.

No the MOAR reticle is MOA based so all the graduations are spaced 1 MOA. In a MIL Dot reticle they are 1 MIL graduations. The MOAR reticle gives you more precise holds vs a standard MIL dot reticle. Also your ranging with the reticle is done a little different between the two.

Fortunately, Nightforce does not make an MOAR equipped riflescope with Mil turrets.

But the ideal way is to match your adjustments and reticle so that they use the same angular unit of measurement.
