I'm considering an NX8 4-32 for an AR 10 that I hunt with and I am looking at doing some long distance training. Which reticle do you prefer and why? I will entertain other scopes in that price range if you think there is something better. Thanks.

Mil-XT if you like the grid-style reticles and Mil-C if you prefer a clean/more traditional reticle. Personally, I love the MIL-XT in my ATACR and would be hard pressed to go with a different grid system in my glass.

The Horus features are nice, but not really needed for 99.9% of shooters. If you're shooting movers, you should know your mil hold. If you're shooting and compensating for wind, you should know your wind mil values/holds. By knowing those, there isn't a difference between having extra/predetermined dots in your reticle and knowing it in your head. But that's just me.

Go Mil-XT and you won't be disappointed with the reticle.

I had a T3 2.5-20x on my wish list most of the year ... but after seeing pics of the outer area distortion, decided against. I think the NX8 work ok for dialing reticles, but for holdover reticles I'd go with the ATACRs.

The prices shown on websites are rarely if ever the prices things actually sell for. Give Jason at Euro a call and see what he can do for you on a new atacr. They also sometimes have deals on demo units.

And at any given point in time, there are usually several atacrs for sale in the Opticx PX ... and usually for quite a bit less than MSRP. My shooting buddy just got a LNIB 4-16x t3 for less than the MSRP of a NXS8 2.5-20x T3.

I got a confirmation email from NF today.

The NX8 2.5-20 is $1950 MSRP for MOAR, MIL-C and Mil-XT reticles. The NX8 2.5-20 is $2200 MSRP for a Tremor3 reticle.

I realize that you can wheel and deal and usually do better than this, but it keeps the XT production class legal, which I think is cool.
