Question,

Lets say that my data says to dial 3 mils.

Does it mater what power the scope is at or is it always (in this case, 3 mils) the same dope no matter the magnification setting?

Thanks.

Re: Nightforce NXS 2nd Focal Plane Question, please.

The scope power setting matters only when ranging a target. If you know the DOPE for that range just run the turret up to 3 mils and torch it.
If you go to the NF website and look under the library tab, you will find a lot of useful info that will help answer most questions.

Re: Nightforce NXS 2nd Focal Plane Question, please.

Dialing in 3 mils on the scope will move the centre of the reticle 3 mils in your given direction... note, centre of the reticle. Think of it as if there were no hash lines or mil dots and all you had was a dot in the centre.

The importance of magnification on a 2nd focal place scope is only of relevance when you are ranging using the mil dot or mlr reticle. In the case of the NXS line you just need to crank your magnification up to its max and use this in your calculations.
