Has any one had the illumination turn on in their scope while shooting. Mine has loosened up to the point that it turns on by the third shot and I have to keep turning it back off. Just wondering if they is an easy adjustment to make as I dont want to send it in.

Re: nightforce NXS illumination knob

Call and talk to Nightforce about it. Doesn't seem right and the scope should run right. They will either tell you how to fix it or have you send it in. I know it sucks to send a scope in but it sucks worse not having a scope work right.

Re: nightforce NXS illumination knob

Never had that problem. Maybe thats a sign that I am not shooting often enough.

Did the knob on your scope always feel easy to engage? I have a few of these scopes and they are all fairly stiff.

Re: nightforce NXS illumination knob

I actually bought the scope used and it had a good click to it to turn on the ill. Now it doesnt have the click. Must be my heavy recoiling 308 lol. I will send nightforce an email.

Re: nightforce NXS illumination knob

NIGHTFORCE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shortly after I sent me email I got a response on how to fix it. Went to the garage and grabbed my precision screwdriver set as my Mac master set didn't have the proper size in it. I had to ground my smallest one down a bit to fit and adjusted as per Kens email. Problem fixed. Now THAT is customer service!

NF rocks!!!! I never experienced that with my scope, glad you got it fixed. Their service is great in my experience.

And I'm glad to see you helped another member here with your learning, this is the Hide I signed on for. Great peeps that help out each other.

Re: nightforce NXS illumination knob

I've dealt with both Ken and Brian at NF, both very helpful, both very fast to return emails. And as an added bonus, they actually know what they're talking about

Re: nightforce NXS illumination knob

I had to file down my smallest precision screwdriver to get in there and that is what took the time, but it was a very simple fix. The knob has a very distinct click to it now. Hopefully if anyone else has this issue this will fix them up too.

Re: nightforce NXS illumination knob

Sounds like Nightforce needs to spend an extra nickle on each scope in production and put some locktite on the screws. Its nice of them to make owners of their products "field technicians" though.

I'll let ya know when my Leupold needs the same treatment.

Thanks for posting this. I'm 50 rounds into my new 300 prc with the nx8 2.5-20 and had the illumination turn on from recoil.
Will be locating a jewellers flat head asap.
