Rifle Scopes Nightforce NXS ZS 5.5-22x vs. Vortex 5-20x

Which of these scopes is more durable in yalls opinion? I cant decide on which one i want. Is there any other scopes yall would recommend that are $2000 and under? I am going to be buying one within the upcoming week. ZERO STOP is a must in whatever scope i choose.

Can the IOR Valdada 6-24x compete with these?

No ZS on the SS 5-20.

Do you need SFP or FFP or does it matter?

The NXS 5.5-22 is an outstanding SFP scope. Incredibly durable, mechanically sound, decent glass... it is near perfection in SFP tactical optics.

The Vortex Razor is also an excellent optic, but it is FFP. The adjustments are only 5 mil/rev, unlike the HS NXS, but better reticle choices (although I prefer the thinner MLR reticle in the NXS)and in my opinion, just as mechanically sound and durable.

IOR's have outstanding glass, but just do not give me the same sense of toughness that the NXS and the Razor do and they have the fit and finish of a Yugo.

no sfp or ffp do not matter. i like how tough the nightforce is. i like the mlr with the .milrad 5.5-22. where can i get a decdent price on one?

I would watch the Optics section of the For Sale forums... they come up occasionally. New is going to be pricey...

I Love my NF 5.5x22. Its so good, I feel like its spoiled me. Outstanding optic, buy without regrets.

I am talking to jay right now about getting me one. I looked through one and loved it. At the time i had a Zeiss Conquest and it just couldnt hold a candle to the nightforce.

This is a tough one.

IOR offers really nice glass and their reliability has gotten a lot better.

The Vortex is FFP and the RET choices are very nice. The reliability is there also.

The Nightforce is not FFP but for most shooters FFP is not need (I prefer FFP). The glass is really nice in the Nightforce also. Nightforce's reliability is rock solid a long with there repeatability.

I'm sure whatever you scope you go with you will love.

Im in the same boat as the op

Ive got a ior 6-24 and love it but my next rifle is going to need more elevation. Ive used the nightforce but I always revert back to ffp scopes, I love them.

How does the vortex razor handle the mirage from the barrel during the summer months? Does it have any thermal barrier like the nf scopes?

I would opt for the Nightforce as well. Their scopes just fit my likings perfectly
