I recently purchased a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 Optic and decided to go with the Nightforce Unimount with a 1.375 height. I know that Nightforce makes high quality stuff, but I was wondering if anyone on here has any input on how well the unimount has worked for you and I also wanted to be sure my ring height is appropriate for an AR platform gun. I am putting this set up on a LMT MWSE .308. Thanks!

Re: Nightforce Optic Purchase/Unimount

I have the Unimount that I've used with a couple scopes on my MK12 at home. With the 50mm obj it is the lowest with that mount you're going to be able to go if you have a continuous top rail. Height is good but will depend on your face and cheek weld preference/style. It's a great mount and is very high quality.

I like to rest my head on the rifle when shooting prone slow fire precision so it feels a little high to me, but I also have very high cheek bones working against me. Once I go into alternate position shooting I don't notice it.

Thank you for the reply, and more importantly thank you for your service to our great country so I can own guns like this

Re: Nightforce Optic Purchase/Unimount

I have a 50mm Nightforce on my LAR-8 and went with the 1.375" Unimount. It offers just enough clearance for the objective bell and the scope hasn't fallen off yet, so it seems like the right choice.
