Rifle Scopes nightforce turrets

ive got a nightforce 5.5-22-56 that was suposed to come from the dealer where i bought it with a set screw under the elv. turret for use as a zero stop.i dont think it did but it has a set screw in the middle of the brass turrets under both the elv and wind turrets.is this on all nightforces and what is it for?this is the only nightforce i have ever had so im not sure if it's factory or what.thanks for any info.

Do NOT remove it. I did, I had to send it in for repairs. This is the tension adjustment screw. Removing it will release a spring, only NF can fix it.

No clue, and I didn't see anything physically happen to it. I dropped NF an email just to be sure it was ok, and Brian Gearhart replied with that explanation above and told me to send it in.

talk to nightforce today,they said it should not hurt to adjust the tension screws,but if the screw is out not to turn the turret cause you may lose a bunch of little ball bearings.
