I know first hand as I have some products that are simple but are shipped with instructions. 99.99999% of issues brought to my attention are caused by the above. Maybe CS has been having to deal with those types lately and, not knowing the complete details waived you off of the feature?
I have some NF with Zero Stops. Two of them are constantly, and I mean all the time, being moved from one rifle to another and loaned out. Everytime they hit the top of a new ride, the ZS and both turrets get reset. When we do a demo we also go through this to demonstrate the feature and show that it is not something to be intimidated by or scared of.
The turrets on my NFs, especially the elevation actually show wear from all the fingers and gloves that have molested them in their short lives but they keep on clicking and delivering every time. I must add that such subtle wear marks are highly attractive to the opposite sex and most other male shooters secretly are turned on by it.
I encourage you to make very sure you get the ZS feature if you purchase a NF. If you are through this way, you are welcome to contact me in advance and I can show you the procedure. Takes maybe 3 minutes for the whole walk through.

just echoing what terry said here, i would always invest in a zero stop. sounds like your rifles and scopes get the same treatment as mine, which really says something. i need to see you about one of your sentinel stocks, heck maybe a whole rifle one of these days
