Anybody have any experience with bolt action tactical rifles made by Nighthawk Custom? Saw them at SHOT and they've had them on the website for awhile. Just wondering how they hold up and compare to everyone else.
I know John Pierce (http://www.pierceengineeringltd.com/)was making (or is making) thier actions for them. I watched the machining process on one of them, its a integral lug, machined in 20MOA base, very very nice action.
I think currently, correct me if I am wrong, that they are currently using Surgeon actions. I am not clear if they are moving to Surgeons, or moving from Surgeons, but Pierce has a pile of them at his show with NIGHTHAWK CUSTOM USA on the side of them.
I can not speak for their current builds, as I have not seen any, but if they are going to start using Pierce actions, their isnt going to be anything better out their.
You can spend a shitload of money on one of them, or you can get a Pierce built rifle for a fraction of the cost, that will be the exact same thing.
I know nothing about them, other than having looked on their site. I'm waiting on an GRP from them, but I'd leave the bolt gun alone and let them stick to 1911's.
Rifle built on Surgeon/Manners looked really nice at SHOT. Paint/bedding/metal work looked clean. Don't know how they shoot but likely they shoot fine.
They make a good full sized 1911 pistol, that being said there new to building rifles so the jurys still out. I will say they do stand behind there products though.
No Nighthawk was founded by Ron Phillips a master gunsmith at Wilson and some other wilson gunsmiths. He has scence left nighthawk and started his own company Ron Phillips and company.
