Anyone know anything about Nighthawk tactical rifles? I am looking at one with a Surgeon action and Manners stock. It 308 with 10 twist, 22" bull barrel. AICS magazine. Jewell trigger. All the right stuff. Do you suppose it will shoot really well? Any word on what kind of work Nighthawk does?

Re: Nighthawk tactical rifles

A friend of mine has one. He loves it. I'm sure you'll be alright they are a very reputable company I can't imagine them building bolt action rifles if they didn't fully invest in the right people and equipment. Surgeon action with Manners and custom barrel always seems like a winner to me. Do they advertise a 1/2MOA guarantee or anything?

Re: Nighthawk tactical rifles

For several matches now Nighthawk Tactical Rifles have been giving us a prize rifle and they are very nicely built.

As well, Jeff B shoots for them and he does extremely well in the competitions with his Nighthawk equipment.

They are well, built from everything I have seen.

Re: Nighthawk tactical rifles

I've got a 243 built by them. With their action and broughton barrel. I've got around 1100 rounds through it and I've taken it to about 6 matches. It's a freakin hammer. If I could do one thing over I would go with the surgeon action instead. PM me if you want

Re: Nighthawk tactical rifles

Do you reload you Nighthawk 243? Did they get the chambering right? I called Nighthawk and they told me the rifle has a 1 in 10 twist and a "match chamber" (whatever that is). I want to be able to load close to the lands and still fit in the magazine.

Re: Nighthawk tactical rifles

Yes I reload for my 243. Yes they got the chambering right, partly because I spec'd out the reamer myself. Their 308 reamer is good, you can load mag length and get in the lands no problem.
