Would-be muggers in Australia thwarted by ninjas

Sensei Kaylan Soto, middle, and his students came to the resuce of a German exchange student.

A group of would-be muggers in a Sydney, Australia, met their match Tuesday night in the form of black-clad ninjas.

The three stalked and attacked a German exchange student, 27, in a dimly lit alley that fortunately for the victim ran behind the Ninja Senshi Ryu warrior school, according to an Australian Broadcasting Corp. report.

Ninja student Nathan Smith was standing in the shadows outside the dojo when the attackers set upon the victim and quickly called for help from his classmates inside, according to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald.

Sensei Kaylan Soto and three other students in full ninja gear quickly responded.

"We looked around to see what was happening and there were three blokes on this guy just kicking him and punching him in the head," he told the ABC.

"We started running towards them and they took off. They would have seen five of us in ninja gear ... all in black with our belts on, running toward them.”

The ninjas gave chase but could not catch the assailants.

Police told the ABC they arrested two male suspects, ages 16 and 20, and are looking for a third. Their intended victim suffered only minor injuries.

Ninja Steve Ashley told the Herald the assailants must be lamenting their luck.

"It was probably the worst place in Sydney where they could have taken him,” he said.

Re: Ninja stops robbery..

they placed some ninjistu magic on them so they'll have the runs for 2 weeks.

Re: Ninja stops robbery..

Please don't view modern practitioners of ninjutsu to actual ninja's as they existed long ago in Japan. There are no more ninja's in the traditional sense.

Nowadays, ninjutsu is not much different in practice from any other martial art. There is no need to train constantly to stay in the condition of an olympic athlete as they used to have to do to successfully complete thier missions. Now we are just content to train a few hours a week and practice the weapons and empty hand fighting skills, which traditionally was just a part of the overall ninja skills. Can't really expect enough speed an endurance to be able to catch muggers who already have a head start, unless you are willing to engage in a lengthy chase. Then what do you do if you catch them? They aren't going to give up, you'd have to beat them into submission, probably breaking a few limbs in the process. then you get sued. Just my three cents worth.

Ninja stars my friend, you don't even have to chase them just chuck some stars, walk over and numb-chuck the hell out of 'em or stick your big toe sock thingie up their asses.

Just do what we do here with brass knuckles and make the stars into belt buckles.

Any gun show will have endless tables of stars and numbchucks for the ninja assassins.

You must be a practicioner of the arts -

No, Hollywood has made the Ninja into an urban legend. Have never met a practicioner but saw a few on TV giving demonstrations and it really is very much like Karate except that Ninja's had specific missions, generally recon, assassinations etc.

Very much like a modern day sniper actually.

FYI Stars are called Shuriken guys.

And there are other 6" long nail type weapons they threw as well - have actually thought about buying a few from James Williams and practicing with them - they look fun, like shooting...
