Nitride vs white defiance

Who has had both? Looking for pros and cons. I currently have a dlc deviant. I haven’t owned white actions.

I actually got the best of both worlds with a stainless receiver in the white and nitrided bolt. It is much smoother than the DLC'd Deviant that I had which admittedly did not have the raceways polished prior to coating which is highly recommended.

A friend of mine did the same thing, and that action is slick as hell.

My Defiance is DLC'ed with the raceways polished, and it's really slick. Unfortunately haven't had the two rifles side by side to compare, the rifles reside in different countries.

I wouldn't be afraid of just nitriding the bolt. I don't think I would leave everything just bare.

Sent the bolt to Area 419 who uses H&M for all their nitriding and is the same place Defiance outsources their nitride work to.

$75 for just the bolt and I believe $150 for the entire action
