I have a Brux 308, 1-11 twist with about 1500 rounds. I don't clean often. When I do clean I get plenty of carbon out but almost no copper. Sure not complaining, but did I just get lucky or is this common with a Brux.

What solvent are you using to try to get the copper out? Powder solvent, like hoppes 9 won't do anything to copper. You need to use something like gunslick copper-klenz or sweets 762 to get the copper.
I don't attempt to remove copper until i have a loss in accuracy, evidence of higher mv or higher pressure. That can take as much as 750-1k rounds on a 308.
I do run a bore snake with a little hoppes 9 every hundred rounds, though, or every time i switch powders.

Custom barrels, sharp reamers and proper break in produce what you are seeing regularly. Most fouling originates at the throat. There are other contributing factors though, like caliber, bullet jackets, coatings, pressures and bearing surface. I use bullets that I coat with danzac and get virtually no copper, ever from my customs.
