Rifle Scopes No I need a mil/mil or mildot system to shoot at range?

Im new to this game but I aspire to be able to place some ar500 targets I bought at ranges out to 800 yards and make hits. I want to get good with my rifle but not really into competition- more wanting absolute confidence when hunting within effective range of my 308- rem 700 LTR

I have-


A laser rangefinder that can do 800yards on a good day.

a hunting scope 1.5-8x MOA turrets and a #4 reticle

also PLAN ON getting a 6.5-20x50 vortex viper with moa turrets. (could get it with mildot or standard reticle)



Should I trade my gear out for mil/mil equipment? should I get into this mildot reticle business?

Moa or mil is fine, but it's wise to get a reticle and turrets that are in agreement (either moa/moa or mil/mil).

I used to have a mil dot reticle and moa turrets. I switched to a mil/ml scope and it made life easier. But it is not necessary.

Mil Turrets and Mil based Reticle and never look back. You'll be glad you did.
