no new user accounts?

a buddy of mine whats to join the hide, but says that he cannot because "no new user registrations are being accepted".

is this true?

This is correct

We are moving to a new forum software, this requires us to import a ton of information, including the member list.

We cannot have new registrations during the move because they will be lost after the move. If he registers now, when we flip the switch, his record will be gone.

We anticipate moving to the new software this week, by the weekend, after that is done we will open new registrations back up. Until then, we cannot have the records added to the site.

This is good to know, I have a buddy who is getting into long range and wasn't able to sign up. I will pass this info along.

As the migration is delayed - new account registration has been enabled again.
