Can anyone take some pictures of the Nomad with the mount and end cap removed.
Just wanted check out the baffles as I didn’t think about removing the mount / end cap while I was visiting it in jail today.
Thanks in advance.

Oh and also, awesome forum.

I took, few when I did my F4, figured it would be a while before I saw it again...

Didn't take the end cap off, sorry.

Nice! I thought I noticed that cut in the first baffle (through the battle adaptor hole), wanted to confirm what I saw and that it is normal.

How do you like it so far? ... assuming you have possession of it!

It is normal... The nomad is one of quietest durable cans on the market. Be very glad you have one in order.

I really liked picking it up, fondling it, putting it on the scale (14.3 oz), taking it apart and accidentally gouging it with the spanner wrench lol..... Well I didn't enjoy the last part, but that's all the contact I've had with it, got to check it out when filling out my F4, now it's out of hand until I get approved.

It did seem odd to me that the spanner slot in the hardened 17-4ph body got a big gouge on the edge, just from trying to take the DT adapter off, I've taken my Saker apart many, many times and it's not any worse for the wear. Not sure what I'm going to do about that in normal use. Other than that it seemed like a nice, very well made can.

Did you gouge the finish or the steel?

We tested a normad on a 300 Norma mag this weekend and I couldn't believe how good it sounded compared to a saker.

I guess a better description would be that the wrench ripped a little chunk out of the edge of the spanner slot, popped out, then gouged the paint. That happened while I was trying to remove the mount for the first time. Since I bought this can mostly for the mount modularity, I'm a bit concerned about it holding up to many, many mount changes over the years, I couldn't get a great grip on that slot after it got gouged.

Saker for comparison, some rubbing on the finish, but the spanner wrenches deform before the can, so no messed up spanner slots. The spanner wrenches that came with the can are a bit chewed up, but who cares.

I assumed it would be quieter than the Saker, not really a high bar, but it's good to hear confirmation. Use on short barrel magnum class rifles is one of the applications I have in mind for this can.
