Rifle Scopes Noob Question here

Re: Noob Question here

First, tell us what scope you have.

There will probably be allen screws on the knobs, two or three of them, that you have loosen in order to slip the knob.

Re: Noob Question here

Found the allen screws, but of course the chinese p.o.s. does include the proper key to fit, and neither does my gunsmithing kit. So what is the procedure once I remove the allen screws. A set of directions is also a piece of information the chinese don't find useful.

Re: Noob Question here

LOL. Thats funny. Normally you would have to loosen the allens and then turn the knob to zero or however many clicks above or below whatever your set range is.

Only the elevation turret should need to be set as windage is forever changing.

Thats about as generic as it gets.

Re: Noob Question here

Loosen them, and the knob will either turn without "clicking" the adjustments or you will have to slide it up and off the shaft and press it back down on the zero index. Then retighten the allens and hope the knob doesn't crack and fall off in pieces. If it does, buy yourself a small set of visegrips and use that to adjust elevation.
