New to long range shooting, so bare with my noob questions. Im going to build a target for long range shooting, after some research, I was going to go with a 36"tallx18"wide plate because it seems this would be easy to Mil estimate the range.
I have a nightforce with MLR reticle. (.5 mil subtnesions, 5 mil up 5 mil down)
1 Mil @ 100 yards is 3.6" correct?
so a 36" target @ 100 yards should be 10 Mil in my reticle?
and the same target at 1000 yards would be 1 Mil?
Am I correct in my math or am I off? (assuming I zero'd @ full power and ranged @ full power?)

Re: noob ?'s on Milling a Target

Thx, heres what I got for other various Mil measurements
(36x27.8)/Mils = Distance

36" @ 8 mil = 125 yards
@ 5 Mil = 200 yards
@ 2 Mil = 500 yards
@ 1.5 Mil = 667 yards
Think im starting to get an understanding of this

Now I just gotta figure out how to figure when I adjust my power on a SFP scope
