Ok, I will start by saying that over the years I had quite a few set ups, mostly Leupold mark 4, vary x III LRT scopes, as well as bushnell elites in various forms along with a couple weaver tacticals. I have had 4 night forces over the years and used a few other optics on duty rifles..
I had a home fire in Jan, lost almost everything. Items that were saved are out for repairs.
I recently( like 3 days ago) got a rifle back from a Gunsmith that repaired and changed it up a little.
Remington 700 , 5r, had cut to 18 inches, and a SAS tomb installed. In theory this was to be a handy light rifle... Added a HS adjustable stock and that idea went out the window.
Intended range and use.. Shoot, anything and everything as far as I can as right now it is it.. ( Varmints, paper, steel etc) Will not be ran suppressed yet but that is in future.
I have liked many features of the newer trend in scopes( last purchase was a Bushnell elite ERS 3.5x21, that didn't make it out of the fire) That scope was heavy..

I am trying to get suggestions, reasonable..( VJJPunisher) for a decent lighter scope, as I now have nothing to go pull out of the safe and say this will do..
I know I have listed 2nd and 1st focal scopes and the reticles don't match.. I understand this. I am not in the position to purchase a 2000-3000 scope. I just want to get shooting again.
So far as I can get these locally..
Leupold 4.5x14 lrt( plan on new moa reticle)
Leupold 3.5x10x40 m3
Weaver 3.5x15 tactical

If I could find a decent or beat nxs 3x15 for cheap I would consider that also.
Thinking under 1000 for the optic.

Would you suggest saving pennies and going with a bushnell elite ?
Thanks and flame on ..

Buy something used here off the hide. That way if you don't like it you can get your money back out of it later.

SWFA 3-15's are very good scopes for the money. They go for around $600 used. FFP/mil/mil.

A scope that is very impressive, especially the glass, is the Bushnell LRHS.

Saw a 3.5-10 with tmr and upgraded m5 knobs for about 1k the other day. That should work well and keep its value if still for sale. I just got the weavet to try. Havent shot with it yet but glass is nice.
