I guess I can't hunt down all the stupid fuckers that told me no way any of this would ever pass. It all passed out of committee in minutes, not even hours.
The divided the room up into two areas, 2A supporters, and Gun Control freaks. That way both sides had the same number of people in the room instead of allowing the reality of the massive difference in numbers there were. Doing that makes them all feel better because to them, they'll now say "The people came to represent and they were 50/50 and we sided on the side of safety for the children".

There lies the issue, don’t bet that the national media will be there as they most likely won’t be and even if they are, they aren’t for you. Remember that. Not to mention how skewed they will show what is really happening. Just like you mention above. Most of it is all about optics.

SB 16 Assault ban was pulled from consideration. Not surprising as the House bill 961 contains the latest version and it will be advanced from that direction.

I wasn't there, but I wasn't far away. I was driving and saw some county cops hauling ass. A number of them in a row, then undercover pickup trucks, again hauling ass, lights and sirens. Drove another 1/2 mile, more of the same. Another mile, same thing. Holy shit, what the hell is happening?
"Active Shooter" situation at a middle school. Oh great, just what we needed. All about 5 miles from the city, in the decent suburbs.
30 minutes later. All clear. 911 was "texted" that there was an active shooter at the middle school. The Police found no evidence of any active shooter or any threat of any nature and they let the kids go back to their normal days.
That's how big of pieces of shit of human beings we're dealing with. They'd do something like that purely for the optics to either cover up what they were doing or to make a headline for the day so that they could lobby for every other gun restrictions they have coming.

That's being "investigated". There are many ways to send texts through software programs instead of tying them to a phone. Could have come from a phone or some computer routed throughout the world to block it's origin. It could be very traceable or impossible, just depends on who did it.
I didn't even know you could text 911 until this came out today.
These days, even middle schoolers know how to use an onion browser and remote SMS sending that will have zero trackable content. However, I wouldn't for a second doubt it was from a gun grabber.

How many illegals are voting in Virginia? Do you still think the voting process isn’t tampered with? If a gunman lets you vote over wether he takes your car or your wallet do you vote? When dealing with dandelions you can cut them, and they grow back. You can mow them, and spread their seeds around. Or you can pull em up root and all and be done with it. When you vote on a unconstitutional law you just cut it down. You must go after anyone that signed that unconstitutional law. We’ve been needing to weed the system for far to long. If we properly weeded a area I bet we would have a lot less unconstitutional laws showing up on ballots

The are several bills filed by the DemocRats in VA that would reduce voter ID requirements to presenting a utility bill.
Since SB 16 was withdrawn, the attention is now on HB 961. As of Tuesday morning it has not been assigned to a house committee yet according to the Legislative website. February 11th is the crossover deadline for each house to act on its own legislation.
The three bills that came out of the Senate committee on the 13th could be voted on by the full senate later this week. So if anyone wants to email or call their Virginia Senator, they best do it very soon. Don't wait until the 20th.

The problem isn't the republican voters, it's the fact that the national and state republican parties have not supported any of the last 3 important elections. In fact, they walked away from several of the candidates and would constantly go on tv and bash them. They pulled financial support. They'll tell you different, but it was obvious. No ads, or very few ads run, and almost all paid for by the person's campaign instead of the party.
Cuccinelli, Stewart, Gallespie, Brat, all of them ran and could have won if they had massive support. The Republican VA party didn't like Stewart because he was connected to Trump so they left out to dry. Gallespie damn near beat Mark Warner for Senate with no support and he only lost by 18,000 votes. Imagine if he had the power of the party behind him?

The problem is the party, not the voters. You can't abandon the nominee, which is what they've done time and time again. Dave Brat was incredible. However, he went to Washington and called everything as he saw it. That pissed off the Republicans. When it came time to run, he was in it by himself, more or less.
Sure, the party will say "Oh, we supported them, we gave them ______________ in funding". Sure, sure you did, but the voters can feel when you aren't supporting them. Watch the democrats. In Virginia, we had a "famous" lawyer. He was a young agressive guy and he was a fighter. He'd pick a fight if he needed to just to fight. He lost his law license a time or two, then got caught having sex with a minor, who he got pregnant. He went to prison for it.
Got out of prison, married his baby mama, and ran for State Senate and won. Now he's on the committee that pushed this crap through.

I mean sure you might get your guy in place but the chances of these bills being done away with in the future is very slim and even if they are that means you guys are basically living in a monarchy the next couple years. And you would be felons not complying with the new laws. Am I right? If all this crap passes y’all know what to do. I just don’t see anyone doing it. And it’s not just in VA either. Sad, when the Iranians are braver than the Americans when they don’t even have the rights we do.
The voting route is done. It will take a court ruling that sticks to roll things back IF they pass.
Surprised no one has published names, addresses and family information for all congressional, AG and Governor yet.
