Thanks for the video. I've been concerned that these stabilizing brace pistols will be considered short barrel rifles at some point. The brace sure looks like a stock to me.
Arm braces, I venture to say, outnumber bump stocks. If the ATF tried to ban (by fiat) arm braces they would run into more massive civil disobedience.
My pistol (make and model withheld intentionally) looks like an SMG to the uninformed. Every now and then the uninformed ask me if my pistol is, indeed, an SMG.
That's when I politely let them know that it is, by ATF definition, a pistol. I speak very slowly when I am talking to the uninformed; not because I don't think they won't understand me. I speak slowly, so I don't slip up and say "shoulder stock" instead of "arm brace."
I also demonstrate how to use the affixed arm brace on my pistol.
What is amazing is when some folks want to try holding the pistol up with one hand, sans arm brace. Keep in mind, this is also with the suppressor on it.
They immediately remark that it is so heavy to be held up with one hand.
That's when I tell them, "now you know why they put an arm brace on it."
Then they ask me, "wouldn't it be easier to simply shoulder the pistol like a long gun?"
My reply is usually, "Bingo!"
If we didn't have arm braces we might all be shooting handguns like the General, who shoots like a girl.
