after lurking here for a long time and building several good shooting mini 14 (ala perfect union) yesterday I made a trip to the store and got started into precision bolt rifles again. I left with a Remington 700 SPS with a 20" bull barrell, Hogue overmold stock. On top of that sits a Nikon 4.5-14*40 mildot, over warne rings and bases, finished off with a Harris 9-13" bipod. My question is, did I limit my getting to 1000 yrds by going with the 20" tube? I don't know what the twist rate of the barrell is but if anyone does know, what would be a good round to start with until I can learn to reload for this thing. Thank you in advance Jeff

This was covered yesterday...

But I'll save you the rouble of searching!

20" is good to go to a 1000, no problem.
