Rifle Scopes Now or wait?

When my AR build is done I need some glass.
There are some good 1-4's out there now but I really would like some more power.
There are some 1-6's but the real good ones are too much for me to spend.
The ones under a thou I'm not sold on and I want FF. I can do FF for under a G in 1-4 with a SS and reticules I like. Or wait cause I know there will be nice FF 1-6 SWFA SS on the market soon for what they will under a G. Oh what to do?

Good point I guess. But the 1-6 SS that's coming out the reticules work really well with it. There was a posting with pictures somewhere around here can't remember where now. But I really liked it. I think I'm answering my question but can't know how long a wait. I think I remember they think around spring time, I think.

Get a 1-4x SS now and when we launch the 1-6x SS, trade it in.

FFP in a 1-4x or 1-6x is not done so that you can range on any magnification like it is utilized on the 5-20x. It is done to basically give you two reticles, one that works well on 1x for CQB and one that works well on 4x or 6x for mid to long range work.

Most 1-4x scopes doe a good job on 1x or 4x but not many do a good job on both ends.

How long is the wait on that SS 1-6x... I'm using a MTAC 1-4x that I like a lot but I would prefer a hash type reticle in FFP so it works just like you say. You get a big circle on 1x and the usable hash in 6x. I've ordered the new MTAC in 1.5-6x because I want the 6x for field long range shooting, but the reticle is not as flexible as I would like for all distances.

The SS is top on my list but I'm also a "gotta have it now" kind of guy so I sometimes buy what I don't really want just so I don't have to wait. Lame I know.

For the OP, look at the new Burris MTAC 1.5-6x and see if that would hold you order for the SS in 1-6x. I think the SS will be the ticket but for the price the MTAC is a steal to hold you over.

Fkg LOL!!!! Yeah, oh well I don't need so much more power, maybe even 1-4 is good enough for my app. But I was digging the review with pics I saw a few weeks ago of the SS 1-6. Now where in the hell did that thread go? You guys would understand if you saw it.
