I kept waiting for the IED or Claymore to be tripped taking out all 3 of those dipshits . Running along Nut to Butt like that is soooooo "Tactical". The 3 minutes to light 3 bottle rockets was pretty pathetic as well . My 11 year old Daughter would have had them all gutted and hung up before they knew what hit them .

Some airsoft is cool, most of them are too young to own real guns but there are some active duty Army guys that do the stuff. One of the only options in which shooting your friends wont get you in trouble. I have a TM Gspec(M700 clone) with B&C stock and a real floorplate.

Man I remember those tennis ball tanks from the Family Fun Center's in San Diego. I always argued with Dad over who got to drive and got to shoot. Those were good times.

Are there people here that actually feel threatened by airsoft? Really? I just dont understand. I appluad every one of these kids that gets off their ass, out from behind the tv and gets out there and plays. And you know what, that goes for the adults too!

I agree entirely as far as the kids go - as for grown men in full fake-kit with toy guns running about playing "army" or "swat-team" or whatever...well, it just seems a little juvenile, no? I mean, there's better ways to get out and get moving - softball, the gym, hiking, real shooting sports, chase your kids around the yard, whatever. Or even get involved in legit historical reenacting or something.

It just seems a little silly for adults to behave this way.

I could be wrong...

Well, honestly I somewhat applaud the individuals who spend the time & effort to learn some tactics & actually practice them on a regular basis. Of course, some of these guys do look like tools...LOL!

I will admit that there are about 6 guys at my Dept. who get together every Sat & Sun for several hours to do either Airsoft or Paintball scenarios. They use it to practice what they've learned through Dept. training (building clearing, force on force....active shooter...etc...). I can tell that they have honed their skills tremendously over the last few years with this stuff & although we make fun at them sometimes.....they take it in stride....

It's all good & fun......

its just another hobby.. i used to paintball,nobody down here does airsoft. i gotta admit though, paintball is fun, no 2 ways about it.

mgd45 I'm sure they take shit but I bet if the SHTF most wouldnt mind those guys backing them up eh? I have honestly been lookin at airsoft for a better dry fire practice for IDPA. I spoke with a couple IPSC guys that said it works great. I also wouldnt mind schalacking my kid LOL. I can see the value of CQB force on force training on the cheap. Better than reading about it on the internet I think

When I was a kid, we used to dress up in full BDUs and face paint and go mess around at night. One time, we evaded the park rangers for hours in a public forest in the middle of the day. Once they caught us and realized we were just kids playing around, they let us go.

I actually think this airsoft shit is way cooler than what we had when I was a kid.

Shane45, Some of the guys on the same squad will get together on their days off and practice building clearing together. This has really helped to make their techniques better & they move together like they are of one mind.

Of course when you practice with the same person clearing a house a 100 times....you start moving & thinking as one unit. These guys have told me that it has made a huge difference when they wind up clearing a business at 0300 while on duty.....it definitely has it's place among training....

#1 they make logistics much simpler (insert Rommel quote)...blue tips or ball 5.56 are much harder to schedule through S-3 than plastic BB's...plus after you whack the poor bastards in the support battalion who got duped into being your opfor with sims ...they stop wanting to play...quickly. Very little restrictions on use of airsoft

#2 I also agree on the physical fitness and social aspects. 15 year olds who play airsoft end up becoming door kicking killers in ranger batt and rarely fat ass 35 year old virgin 12 doughnut eating tubbie tubbies...but they dont become liberals...and i'll take that

#3 umm...all of those people in those pics and vids...need to be hunted down and have the man cards revoked...a tank...seriously a freaking airsoft tank....who has that kind of job or time to do that?

I've kicked around doing some airsoft stuff just for fun with some friends. It's a heck of a lot cheaper on ammo than paintball, that's for sure. The cost per shot (well, per outing really) is what kept me from doing a lot of paintball.

As mentioned before, I can do a lot of pistol practice in the backyard with airsoft. Neighbors and police get pissed when real firearms are used!

My wife and i shoot each other with paintballs whenver we get the chance. It is excellent marriage counseling. I have also done the airsoft thing once or twice. It is actually very useful training. The best part being, people dont die when you shoot them. Also, it is a good way to learn weapons manipulation. Now, the guys with the fake beards, and full kit who only use the gear for airsoft really do need to be smacked.
