So, POF has stepped forward and coated EVERY part of a line of their POF 308s with optional NP3. All I could think of when I saw it was how badly I would have fought for one when I was doing Navy SEAL "Over The Beach" missions. Back then, we all carried 7.62 unless we were carrying a 40mm launcher. I liked the M14 well enough, but it pales in comparison with a 14" piston-driven, NP3-coated POF 308. The NP3 seems like a smart move. Lubeless and rust-proof.

Interesting. (thoughts?)

My POF is NP3 coated and I agree that it's probably the best rust-proofing coating available, not to mention the natural lubricity of the nickel/teflon.

I have carried/shot NP3 coated pistols for years and the coating is very nice, slick and durable and it was a "smart move" on POF's part but I would not consider them "lubeless". Well maybe for a while.
