NRA rivals see opening- does this help against the threats to 2A?

A house divided cannot stand.

Ive always said the NRA isnt perfect but they are the loudest voice for gun owners. Look up money by pro-2A groups and show one even close to what the NRA has...

In this war on the 2nd amendment in the media, gun owners are loosing.

my opinion is, the nra etc is only as big as its voting pool, and if we don't get the next generation active in hunting and shooting sports, that pool will go away along with our rights. get your kids shooting and make sure they bring some school friends.

and given that most if not all the media is anti 2a-biased, wouldn't doubt in the least they are overplaying nra issues to try to diminish the nra's power. if the nra wasn't feared by the left, the left sure wouldn't spend all that time ragging on them.

I think the greed and hubris of those running the NRA that got themselves addicted to the good life is about to start biting them in the backside.
The NRA leadership pretty much started becoming just like the DC swamp, more interested in money for themselves, power and fame for themselves and living in their own little bubble while forgetting about who it was that put them / kept them on top.

It's a shame, but I think the current leadership would prefer to let it all crash and burn rather than step down and give up their spot at the trough.

I agree strongly with what everyone has posted so far. Yes they are the big dog on the block and take the most heat from the left and media (same difference) they are the biggest target and by far have filled more lawsuits, did a lot than any other organization. But if you are not going to support them support some organization that is seriously doing the same. I have always been a big supporter BUT until Wayne LaPierre GOES AWAY I will not give a dime he and a few of his people have created the biggest shit show that should have never happened. It's not all the board members that are bad or the problem we just lost recently a number of some of the best ones by the way they don't get paid for Just being board members. Some get paid for other activities not directly related to their duties as board members it's supposed to be an honor to be one it takes a lot to get there. If Wayne LaPierre was honorable he would have resigned in Indianapolis he's more interested in destroying the NRA and covering his own ass than anything. Shit storm is far from over. I going to be a long road to get the trust back for the next honchos in charge some drastic changes need to be implemented to insure it's not going repeated
My rant

I don’t like the direction the leadership is going at the NRA but I will still support the NRA as there’s so much more to the NRA members then the leadership and their cronies.

But I also support GOA and FPC.

The NRA has to understand we are Americans with lots of guns, especially lots of black rifles. We’re not a bunch of rich ascot wearing candyasses with only wood and blues $10k double barreled elephant rifles in our safes. We have those too but we keep those safe with our plastic and metal guns designed for one thing.
Trust me I still support the NRA. As of right now ILA is separate from the other bullshit. Will that continue it should but that is yet to be determined. Sad it's an American institution that has been used and abused by Wayne's even if he he has done nothing illegal he has damaged the reputation and should have stepped down or retired with his big parachute?

I'm a life member of the NRA, so they already have my money. And from what I can tell, they spent it all on fancy junk mail trying to get more. I get this crap from them and I think, this marketing pack cost 10 or 20 bucks to print and send.

But I do have a really cheapo made in China knife that says NRA on the blade.

I'll keep supporting them, but bare minimum. It's GOA and Judicial Watch getting the bigger checks lately.

NRA ran its course until it got corrupt by the money it had collected to fight for 2A and decided well I need a 7 million dollar Mansion . They were fighting corrupt politicians and decided to join them after seeing how they live off the taxpayers. Every group will wind up in the same position after they become as big as the NRA. The NRA can't prevent us from losing 2A , that fight can only be fought by us not by guys in suits taking your money. NRA should be strictly a lobbyist for gun manufacturers supported by the manufacturers. Founding Fathers told us already how to protect our rights, we either follow their instructions or simply give up.

seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face. again, the nra makes a difference. if they didn't, the lefts and pol's wouldn't be slamming and blaming the nra every chance they get.
Exactly, get your alternative viable before you eliminate the original.

Who ever you support the same shit can happen be careful. The NRA is not dead Maybe it will be wake up call to membership when you vote vet them don't just vote because they are famous. Nothing will change as long as Wayne is at the helm apparently he is hell bent on destroying the NRA he has too much control over the organization and covering his own ass placing blame on everyone but himself does that sound familiar?
