Shooting my first NRL Hunter match at the Alaska comp this year. Shooting my first ever competition at the NF challenge so it will be an eye opening two weeks!

As a first timer, especially in AK (coming from south LA, I had a couple questions I was hoping to get some input on. Mostly which rifle to bring. I put together a 6.5CM this year in hopes of competing in NRL but that didn’t pan out. Just put some rounds through it yesterday and it seemed to like the factory Hornady 140 ELD-M. I also have a 6.5PRC barreled action rifle n the safe, built in a Razor Ti long action; would just need to get a chassis.

Would you stick with a 24” barrel 6.5CM shooting 140/147’s or go out and purchase a chassis and run 147 6.5PRC? Will use factory in either as we don’t have time for load development. Course of fire is out to 1k. Have a few different suppressors I can run on each depending on weight. I can make open heavy weight with my 6.5CM and my S-RR.

Any other tips or advice for a first timer please let me know. NF Challenge will give me a good idea of how to run my gear I think as far as pack goes.

I'm shooting my first NRL comp out there as well (and I'm coming from the other LA so no suppressor). I'm running a 22" 6.5 cm I just put together but haven't been able to get rounds down range with the new barrel so I am kind of just hoping I get good numbers but I am confident in trace ammo. Since it is my first NRL comp and its in such a crazy place I'm expecting it to go to shit anyway but I look forward to just having a good time.
