I heard from someone that a suppressor will not count towards the rifle weight in NRL Hunter next year. I’m highly skeptical but I’m in the middle of putting together a rifle so it’s pretty relevant for me at the moment. Has anyone heard anything about this from a legitimate source?

Glad they included suppressors as something that does not count towards weight. I knew there was a lot of talk to do that. Otherwise I personally don’t want there to be any weight changes even for factory. Keep it a hunter “rifle” series otherwise we will just be kreeping towards another prs type series which would suck imo.

Unless something has changed in the last month or so, this was an idea that had no real traction. The only one I've heard discussed with more chance of becoming a rule is lowering the light from 12 to 10 lbs. I'd heard the raising of factory weight but there's little chance of that pass either.

My sources are match directors who have direct votes on new rules.

That’s way better than my source. I appreciate the insight. Thanks.

NRL hunters should be allowed to shoot anything they are willing to hike at least a 5k circuit with. And they should have to carry all steel targets successfully engaged back to the start in order to post a score.

Hahaha. If they went that route, I would have to insist on an “Over 40 with a herniated disk.” classification where we carry cardboard replicas of the targets and stand around talking about the weather, how modern cars suck, and our latest medical procedures at the awards ceremony.

They have 8 in the Southeast next year and one in Pennsylvania.
