Have been having problems with getting my PVS14 to 'line up' properly with my eye and wanted to see if I was missing something stupid to end my frustration. I started with the RHINO mount and right off, the ocular sat a good 1/2 to 1/3 inch below my eye to where I had to crank up the tilt/angular adjustment all the way to see through the monocle yet still have a good portion of it blacked out due to not being able to look through it. The obvious answer was to get a newer mount with a vertical adjustment, or so I thought.

I currently have a Crye Airframe helmet which I love because it sits much lower on your head than a MICH (which I think is part of my issue), a Wilcox 3 hole shroud and ended up with the Wilcox G11 Army mount. Put it on and I have the same issue. While I am able to adjust the vertical setting up to .9 of an inch and while better, still doesnt let me look through the entire ocular. I have to again crank the entire vertical/tilt setting to where the ocular is pointed upward in order to see through it; I do not think this would hold while moving around over terrain and makes for an awkward feeling of looking down through the monocle.

I can't see to understand this. I have, I thought, an average size head (medium helmet) and shouldn't really have an issue especially with a mount that gives you so much adjustment. I am almost thinking that I am completely missing something as it just doesn't seem like I should be having this issue.

Besides that, the only other solution I can think of is a Norotos AKA2 as it has more vertical adjustment or to look into a Wilcox PVS14 arm as it looks to be shorter (height wise) than the standard J-arm.

    Anyone have any ideas?

That's weird. Everytime I put mine on it seems to be way off but I just man handle it around till I can see the full picture and its comfortable. I use a ops core with a rhino arm. Where the j arm mounts to the 14 it has some movement there if I need it also. I don't know man you may just have a weird shaped noggin! Lol jk

Hey now! No making fun of my big head.

I, for the 257th time, messed with the pads in the airframe again and I think this is about 80% of the problem. I THINK I am fixing it as I've managed to make it significantly better/easier to see through the monocle with the G11 mount by adjusting the pads. My issue is still trying to get this to be somewhat repeatable and stable enough to where it doesn't decide to move around once I am out and about.

On another note, not really liking the G11 as while there is a tension screw for the J arm, the vertical slider bar is wobbly : /
