I am debating what I should do. My goal for this gun when I bought it was to rebarrel it into 22-250AI for the 75g Amaxs. With that being said, I have about 150 rounds through this Rem SPS in 22-250 STD. I currently have an a5 with lead injection on order. I am borrowing my brothers scope and he said he would sell it to me for 400. It is a Leupold V-II 6-18 target. My question is this. Should I spend the money on a Nightforce scope, or use my brothers scope and rebarrel it? Interested in your opinions thanks.

Re: NXS 8-32x56 or rebarrel

I would get the scope. (I would go with the 5.5x22 even though I like my 8-32 I just don't need that much power in the field, for BR it is fine) I would have the scope and work on wearing out the current bbl (all this being said if the rifle shoots well as it is) When you feel like you need a new tube, your allready set up with the scope and a good basic knowledge of the caliber and yourself and you might decide to go another route at that time. Good luck with whatever. They Lupy target scope are good scopes but those NXS's just seem to be where it's at IMO.

Re: NXS 8-32x56 or rebarrel

Based on what you've said so far, I'd say go for the NF and stick with what you've got. But, that is based on the limited information you've given so far, and the basis that I personally don't like any round that isn't easily available in factory loads. Maybe you can help us help you...

How is the current barrel doing? Accurate or a turd? What type/brand of barrel are you planning on going with if you do the swap?

Are you already set up to load the AI?

Why do you want to run the heavier rounds? Big game? Wind deflection?

What ranges are you shooting at? 8-32x really limits FOV when varmit hunting, but if you're just punching holes in paper, it's OK.

ETA: OP, you double posted this somehow. You might want to just delete the other one...
