I am debating what I should do. My goal for this gun when I bought it was to rebarrel it into 22-250AI for the 75g Amaxs. With that being said, I have about 150 rounds through this Rem SPS in 22-250 STD. I currently have an a5 with lead injection on order. I am borrowing my brothers scope and he said he would sell it to me for 400. It is a Leupold V-II 6-18 target. My question is this. Should I spend the money on a Nightforce scope, or use my brothers scope and rebarrel it? Interested in your opinions thanks.

whats wrong with a 3.5-15X50 or a 5.5-22X50? Why do you need so much magnification? I personally dont shoot much over 400 yards with my 22-250 and for that 3.5-15x50 is plenty.

Re: NXS 8-32x56 or rebarrel

My goal is to watch prairie dog impact up to 600 yards hence the lead injection. Its going to be a 20lb benchrest gun. Thats why I want the magnification. It is just too hot out here during summer to shoot anyways so mirage wouldn't be a huge factor because I will pretty much only shoot during winter.

32X scope, winter, and a 22-250 in a PD town.....You'll have mirage if you shoot very many rounds quickly.

Go 5.5-22 with the 22-250.. with the quality of glass we are talking here you will have no problem spotting hits. No question about it.

I love having the extra magnification of my 8-32 NXS but I never use anything over 10x unless I'm at the bench.
