Washington DC is the same way and probably others. Nothing can be taller than the Washington Monument. Nothing wrong with that. And since you didnt ask- did you know our Capital building there is an loose clone of the US Capital building but built 14 feet taller making it the largest capital building in the nation? because Texas! Personally Im glad the newest condos they throw up dont block the view. Some of m favorite Confederate monuments resided there.

This must some type of calculated move, isn't the population of NYC 20-25,000 or more people per square mile? Without skyscrapers, wouldn't the total population be cut in half? Tax base also. Business space would now be ultra uber expensive, as if it isn't now.
