Thats probably their worry.....in a lightweight pistol cal can like the ump or evo a few bristles off a brush isn't a worry. In a high power can like a .223 or bigger a bristle can be a disaster. Just a small piece of debris can deflect a bullet enough to hit a baffle and cause a great deal of damage. The blast of gas into the can can pick up a bristle and blow it into the path of the bullet. The .45 or 9mm isn't likely to be deflected by such a small piece, a hot rifle cal bullet at the speed its traveling can.
Having said all that the real truth is why run a brush of any kind through a can? It gains you nothing and creates a possible risk. The baffles rarely have any build up in an area that a brush will take off in any case. The build up is usually found in the back corners and hidden areas where a brush won't touch. The only cans that benefit in any real way from cleaning are the .22 LR cans which have tons of crap like wax, grease, unburnt powder, lead and carbon filling the baffles. A brush won't help that sort of thing either but taking it apart and cleaning each baffle by hand will fix it.
Hope that helps

i understand that completely, it wont clean the most powdered places but i did see a lot of gray junk come out after i brushed it... i guess it just makes me feel good to brush it out lol
