Guys, gonna try to start loading for this thing (Mk 11 clone from GAP) I have used and know how to use a seating depth gage for measuring OAL for bolt guns. I have no experience with auto loaders. Should I proceed the same way?

Yep, or just use GI or "Factory" length. The magazine well/box in most bolt guns is longer so you can compensate for throat wear. You're limited by the internal magazine length on an autoloader.

Most Sierra Match Kings are pretty tolerant of jump. GI factory length for M852 and M118 long range are 2.80 +/- .030.

I use a Stoney Point (now Hornady) tool.

Huge plus one on this. My local shops always had 168s in stock when I started reloading, I always thought it was because they were so popular. It's actually because all the 175s were already bought.

The magazine restricts how far you can seat the bullet out so you have a finite COAL. However, the chamber, throat and ogive type of the bullet combination may give better accuracy when the round is seated a bit deeper.

most people load to 2.8 but if you are feeling adventurous you can go to 2.810 - I do it just to push the limits of my magazines
