Anyone know if any local shops in Orange County (Huntington Beach Area) carries Badger Ordnance USMC scope rings? Most the shops around me are centered around hunting and don't carry most the stuff I'm looking for. I was going to order them online but I'm not exactly sure what height I need and would rather be 100% and see how it sits than take a wild guess and think that's what I'm looking to get.

Re: OC Local Shop Question. (CA)

I got this tip from someone on this forum. Can't remember who, but it worked great: Set the rifle on a bipod and make 2 stacks of change equal in height on top of the base untill you can lay the scope on top of the stacks and it is at the correct height. Once the scope is where you want it, take it off and measure the height of the stack of change. If the ring manufacturer lists their measurements from top of base to bottom of tube, which many do, this will tell you exactly what ring height you need. I believe Badger Ord. provides this measurement.
That is, if you cant find a shop that stocks them locally.

^ Now there's a great idea! I bet if you take a small cooler full of brews and ask for the nickel tour after oh about 2 or so you might find JBW III in a smiling mood
