Good evening Hiders, I did this OCW based testing today and was curious to see your input on the finding and my separate observations. Today was 56deg, 47%rh and testing was at 100 yds at 146' alt. Sun was shining and it was a great day to be at the range, and with the exception of one pulled shot I was happy with my shooting. 175g Berger VLD Target, Federal 1X Brass, Win LR Primers, Varget

node at 42.6 as determined by THE man Dan, I also see something at 43.6. I ran a ladder thru the chrono at the end of test(magneto speed), and here's how it ran. The green dots are edited in for the triangulation of the shots.

Series, 1, Shots:, 9
Min,2669, Max,2785
Avg,2725 ,S-D, 39
ES , 116

Series,Shot,Speed, Grains
1, 1, 2669, ft/sec 41.6g
1, 2, 2699, ft/sec 41.8g
1, 3, 2686, ft/sec 42.0g
1, 4, 2710, ft/sec 42.2g
1, 5, 2723, ft/sec 42.4g
1, 6, 2735, ft/sec 42.6g
1, 7, 2738, ft/sec 43.0g
1, 8, 2782, ft/sec 43.3g
1, 9, 2785, ft/sec 43.6g

having previously messed around with Bubb's 20shot ladder, some of that info gels with these groupings. I began to see too much pressure signs at 44.3g so I only sent one shot (flat primer, shiny ej mark clearly present), the 44g was showing a shadow ej mark, on the 43.6 there was nothing. I don't mind running on the "hotter" end of things since I'm very detail oriented in my reloading and check everything OCD style. At the higher node I can hit 1K dialing 9.8mils(1286fps, 352.35"drop), with the lower node 1K @ 10.2mils(1262fps, 422.93"drop)

Mostly my question is am I actually seeing this at 43.6 also? Any advice and tips are greatly appreciated. Working with Dan was quick and easy I will say, made getting this rolling simple as pie.

forgot to add, this target was the cold bore and "warm up" shots I took, 3 on left are cold bore+2 41.6g, 3 on right are 41.8 (.387moa). after my first 3 shots i realized i had .1m L dialed on, so that's the shift of POI

I'm confused by the changes in powder increment changes. They range between .2-.4 between groups. I agree with your assessment of the 2 nodes based in the data you have provided, but I 'm no expert.

dcnyli, what ever became of this? I'm just starting to use OCW and am confused with rusults. Reading your results, what did you pick as the OCW for that round?
